I’m Justin Nelson, a Managing Broker with John L. Scott’s Bellingham Office, proudly serving clients since 2013. With a client‑first, relationship‑driven approach, I focus on delivering exceptional service through strong communication, skilled negotiation, and a deep commitment to the local community. My background in builder sales, marketing, and entrepreneurship provides a strong foundation for guiding clients through a wide range of residential real estate needs—from listings and luxury properties to new construction and buyer representation. As both a Listings Specialist and Buyer Specialist, I bring a balanced perspective and comprehensive market knowledge to every transaction. Community involvement is at the heart of who I am. I currently serve as Bellingham High School PTSA President, sit on the Sunnyland Neighborhood Association Board, and previously coached youth soccer. These roles keep me connected to the people and neighborhoods that make Bellingham such a vibrant place to live. I love helping clients discover what makes this area special. Some of my favorite local activities include running, biking, snow skiing, exploring Whatcom Falls Park, walking the Historic Fairhaven District, and enjoying our waterfront trails. I also frequently recommend local favorites like Kulshan Brewing, Starla’s Pizza, and the Avenue Bread James Street Café. When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, staying active, exploring new places, supporting local arts and music, and giving back through volunteer work.

I grew up in the greater Seattle area and earned my bachelor’s degree in communication with a minor in business management from Washington State University (go Cougs!). Prior to starting my real estate career, my professional background included working as a TV news producer and I also worked in human resources and operations management. I also was the owner/operator or a local floral design studio for 13 years, where I had the privilege of working with hundreds of local couples designing their wedding flowers. While my professional background is diverse, the common thread has always been working with people, which is something I truly love. After a lifelong interest in all aspects of real estate, I got my license to practice real estate in 2017. I’m currently based out of John L. Scott’s Bellingham office, and often help clients in Bellingham, Ferndale, Lynden, Everson, Blaine, Burlington, Sedro Woolley and Mount Vernon. I work with a range of clients, including first-time home buyers, people looking to scale up or downsize and those relocating to or from the local area. I also am personally involved in investment properties and have several clients who are working on building their investment portfolios. Another area I’m knowledgeable in is lakefront properties, as I live on Lake Samish and know firsthand what is involved in owning a property on a lake. Growing up in Seattle, I was surrounded by the business. My father owned Balzotti Real Estate, and later, my stepfather owned John L. Scott Monroe. I moved to Bellingham in 2000 for college and began my real estate career at John L. Scott Bellingham in April 2003. Since then, I've dedicated myself to growing both personally and professionally, striving to provide the absolute best service possible. My approach is positive and energetic; I'm a cheerful and driven advocate for my clients' needs. Since 2019, I've proudly owned John L. Scott Real Estate Bellingham, and in January 2023, I became co-owner of John L. Scott Anacortes.
