My husband and I were looking to buy a second home on the Long Beach peninsula. I called Doug because I’d Googled “Best realtor in Long Beach”, and his name popped up. After conversing with him for 2 minutes I knew he was the person for us. His honesty and integrity was evident immediately. He had experience and reassured us that he could take care of the details on the peninsula because our primary home is in Seattle. After showing us the fixer upper house we fell in love with, he made sure to point out all the caveats of buying that particular home so there would be no surprises. Once he saw how determined we were to own this home his easy going demeanor quickly transformed into a strategic negotiator who was determined to get us the best price possible to made sure we would have the funds to do all the necessary repairs that would make the home livable. He delivered on every promise and more and we could not be happier or more appreciative! It is difficult to find the right agent when looking whether to move to the area from an airplane ride away from Washington. Doug initially was not our first choice as he only focuses on the Long Beach Peninsula and we were looking at several areas along the Washington coast Columbia river. We can now say with confidence it would have been a big mistake if we did not sign on with Doug for our new home here in Ocean Park. Essentially a lifelong resident of the peninsula from his adult years, his local knowledge of the market, how it differs from more urban/suburban areas (unique in a sense), and ability to help us find the right home and get to a successful transaction was excellent. When first exploring potential homes on the peninsula, he was able to provide deep knowledge and history of the different towns and specific areas that helped us confirm the ideal home, including pros/cons and potential alternatives. Going through the negotiation and closing process from a distance, he kept us well informed and calm (relatively, LOL) in reaching a very good agreement for us as buyers. As we settle in to our new life on the peninsula, we hope our paths cross often (although not from a surf rescue) and we're able to share a favorite beverage or two upon occasion.
