I confessed that I was not yet ready to purchase a property; regardless, she spent a significant amount of time showing me around the house and extolling the virtues of living on Cape Cod. I was so impressed with her energy and knowledge of the area that practically on the spot I asked her to represent me as my buying realtor. We were just in the beginning stages of selling our home in order to relocate to the Cape. During the ensuing months, Cathy stayed in touch through text messages and phone calls. Laurie did an excellent job marketing the property. She went above and beyond. She seemed less present once we had an accepted offer. I think this may be due to the fact that her home is about an hour away. She also wasn’t terribly familiar with the various issues in my town, especially the sewer installation requirements and related events. She did try to educate herself but I think a local realtor may have been better able to answer questions put forth by prospective buyers. I don’t know that it made any difference when it came to the final selling price. Maybe. And maybe the sale would have happened sooner if I were represented by someone who was local. Overall, I was pleased. Laurie is warm and personable. She can do the job.
