As a couple who entered into the house hunt a bit skeptical of realtor’s intentions, I am sure you will appreciate the significance of us saying there are not enough words of praise that we can use to describe our gratitude towards Ellen and James. First off, Ellen and James are an absolute delight to interact with (to the point where you actually just want to go grab drinks with them and not even talk about the house—I’m still waiting on this Ellen). I didn’t realize how critical this was early on in our search, but in hindsight I can now appreciate that this goes such a long day when you are going back and forth in communication multiple times a day. Of equal, if not greater importance, however, was their integrity and clear knowledge of the real estate market and negotiation strategies. We never felt like they were pushing us into a sale, but actually quite the opposite where they would pragmatically point out the features of different houses that we should seriously consider. This gentle way of leading us is actually what lead us to switch gears in our home search from what we thought we knew wanted to what was actually a much better fit for our lives. While we consider ourselves to be good in negations and separating emotion from financial decisions, working with Ellen and James really demonstrated how much we could benefit from their expertise. They were critical in preventing us from letting our feelings towards a house to cause us to make a poor investment decision. This included guiding us on how high of offers to make, and the contingencies to ask for. Honestly, they made this experience a delight. We are eternally thankful!

Patience is key and Roxanne has it. On the selling side, our home was in need of some significant repairs(roof, soffit, etc.) we had to turn down a full price offer after only 2 weeks due other contingencies that we couldn't agree to (escrow for repairs, etc). From a realtor's perspective, I imagine that would be discouraging but we never felt any pressure and Roxanne made helpful suggestions on improvements that would attract a better offer - after 6 months on the market we finally did receive an offer above our asking price! On the buying side, we were all over the map, I believe our "search zone" included the entire metro within 40 miles of Minneapolis. Roxanne took every showing as an opportunity to learn our wants and only show houses that would be of interest to us. We wanted to avoid the "see xxx number houses" mentality and suffering from "showing fatigue". In the end we put together offers on 3 homes and each time we expressed interest in putting together an offer Roxanne assisted in researching the history of the home so we had the right questions to ask of the sellers and often, those answers affected the offer. It's been a year since we purchased and couldn't be happier with the home Roxanne found for us!

Scott did a great job for me in selling my town home and helping me find the new home I was looking for in a particularly small area where properties get snapped up quickly. He uses professionals (stager, photographer) which makes a big difference with selling your place, and advised me about many things to watch out for in looking for my new home.

Steve was referred to us by a friend - we will continue to be friends with the referrer. Steve (and Sally and Francis) were exactly what you are looking for in a realtor. He was responsive and delightful to work with. He showed us plenty of properties and wasn’t shy to let us know the positives and negatives that he saw which was vital in helping us decide on a home. The balance between offering caution and recommendations is one he absolutely achieved. Where he really shined was after the decisions were made, he went to bat for us and the amount of stress he took off our plates made a world of difference.
