We met Laura Almand of Barbara Zorn’s Better Homes and Gardens at an open house in Cocoa Beach, where we’d lived in a penthouse condo for ten years. We were searching for a 3/3 canal home with boat dock so we could keep our boat at home. We also wanted a 3rd bedroom and a larger office for my husband, who worked out of a small office when he wasn’t flying to see clients. Laura brought Barbara to assess our condo to see if we could get the price we wanted in order to feel comfortable buying a home in the crazy post-Covid market. Ideally, we hoped to stay in Cocoa Beach, but seeing the inflated prices, we realized we’d have to expand our search. We had always loved Sykes Cove, Merritt Island. We’d had realtors undervalue our newly renovated condo with 50’ balcony on the Banana River because it had 2 en suites, no 3rd bedroom, but we felt it was worth more because of its unique layout and direct riverfront location, and decided we could always stay if we couldn’t find our dream home. Barbara and Laura came in and immediately raved about all the amenities and the amazing water views. They knew they’d have to find us a comparable home for us to part with the condo. Laura, our agent, seemed to never sleep. In fact, some nights she stayed awake working on our wish list and the tight, overinflated market. Just when we thought we’d exhausted our search and decided that we’d never find an affordable property with our wish list items, we found the perfect canal home in Sykes Cove, a small community in Merritt Island that leads into Sykes Creek. Laura, Barbara, and their team worked tirelessly to help us realize our dream, and to close quickly. Laura was able to coordinate with all 4 buyers and sellers do that we closed and moved within our desired time frames. Everyone is happy, and we are living our dream. The Zorn team went above and beyond and is still in our lives, hosting community gatherings for their clients. Laura has become a cherished member of our “family.”
Barbara and team were very supportive and persistent with the sale of our house. Initially Barbara with her home remodeling contacts helped us get the house ready for sale. She took the initiative in doing this that allowed us to focus on other things that were going on with our lives.
