About Michael

Immediately after high school in 2005, I enlisted in the U.S. Army as a 13F Forward Observer for the Artillery. I had a very successful 5 year career which included 2 tours of duty in Iraq. I was in Baghdad as part of the "Troop Surge" of 2007-2008 and stationed in northern Iraq in 2009-2010. I decided I wanted a family, and the Army life wasn't conducive to the type of family life I wanted to have, so after my last tour, I returned home and enrolled in college at Black Hills State University. While enrolled and attending classes I became a Rapid City Police Officer. I loved that career. I made a lot of friends and learned many valuable lessons over the 2 years that I was there. I was involved in 2 shooting incidents in early 2012 and decided it was a sign that I should shift my career focus elsewhere. I had purchased my first home while I was a cop, and always felt it was a strong possibility for me to become a Realtor, so in March of 2012 I began studying for my Real Estate License. I obtained that license in June of 2012 and quickly found that my extreme work ethic and passion for service put me miles ahead of my peers. Within my first 3 years I was in the top 5% of agents in my market according to sales volume. I have continued to provide top tier service and guidance to my clients and as the Broker/Owner of Ascend Realty Inc. I am now dedicated to creating a group of agents who can provide that same elevated level of service under my guidance.

Great service

Mike was very timely with sharing new listings which led to my ability to buy my new home. He shared it with me the day it was listed and showed it to me the following day. We made an offer that day, and they had already received another offer. Our offer won out, but if he hadn’t shared and showed it so quickly, it would’ve been a missed opportunity. Mike is also very knowledgeable about home builds and points out any deficiencies that he sees. It was a great experience working with Mike!

Extremely helpful and great response time!

Henry was very understanding of our needs and wants in a home for our military relocation to South Dakota. He was always willing to get first hand videos and provide feedback when touring homes on our behalf. He made the move from the middle of Alaska to South Dakota a little less stressful in knowing we had a beautiful home to look forward to! Thank you Henry!!

Not a realtor, a true partner.

I've worked with a handful of realtors before and Henry is amongst the best. He isn't the kind of person to tell you what you should do, rather he is the person that shows up with solutions and advice. He helped me manage the sale of home in South Dakota where I could not be present, and helped line up and manage a contractor to get the house looking presentable to get the best price possible. He made everything else about the selling process feel seamless. He will be my go-to person for anything South Dakota in the future.

Excellent communication and insights

I've known Roy for a few years now, going back to his photography days. He is very talented and creative with photography, but I feel real-estate is his true calling. When we decided to list our home, the market wasn't the greatest, but Roy knew we could make it work. He communicated with us after every showing and talked through what needed improvement. In the end, we sold our house and Roy made the process easy and seamless. I cannot recommend him enough to handle any and all real estate needs.

Excellent, efficient and made it fun!

Mike was excellent to work with in the journey to obtaining our home! He did a great job listening to what we wanted and when that changed, he was more then willing and capable to pivot and point us in the right direction. He was quick to respond and made the time to look at houses even on short notice. When things got stressful he would lighten the mood with a joke and a positive outlook. We had a hard schedule to work with and Mike was willing to go above and beyond to work with our timelines. I would highly recommend Mike and his team! You won't be disappointed and you will probably laugh all the way to buying your home!
