When I Think of Holly, I Think of Hemingway

Hemingway wrote "The Old Man and The Sea." Until Holly came along, I was an old man at sea. You see (sea), I am 73 and my wife, Sally, wanted to look for a new home. I liked the home we had. It sat atop our five-story building in the Central West End with large windows and a view of the Gateway Arch accompanied most mornings with a brilliant sunrise. But Sally wanted a layout conducive to hosting more family members overnight, especially the grandchildren. Hard to say no to that. Still, I was reluctant to leave. I figured I'd stay at sea till Sally got over it. Then Holly arrived with her lifeboat. No life preservers, but on board was a sign for an open house, which attracted many people, but most of the rest of the necessities were contained in Holly's head, her contacts, her savvy with condo buying and selling, her accessibility --- there for us 24-7 -- her candor, her empathy. But you know what I liked best. She laughed at my jokes even when Sally didn't. Well, yes, she probably does that for every client. But those laughs were hearty ones, so I'll take them. We looked around and found a wonderful place. Our bid was not accepted, though not Holly's fault. In fact, lucky us, the place got nailed by the tornado that blew through town on May 16. So Holly in a way was prescient. I think she knew. She found us a place on the eighth floor of a high rise in Clayton. It was very much unlike our loft. Many more residents., 21 floors They call it a vertical community. But she knew we would like the amenities, a full-service staff, a deck where we can grill and watch people swim and play tennis across the street. Easy access to bike paths. Our place even has an enormous copier for all to use, and a paper shredder to destroy any damning evidence we have on hand. The building manager is almost our best friend already. When the tornado blew through, it came literally within yards south of our building. I am certain Holly knew it would. Looking for an agent? Hire this woman.
