Fogelman also serves as the managing partner of Detroit Independent Holdings LLC. a Detroit-based, New Center focused real estate firm with over $3,000,000 in assets. Fogelman served as the vice president of business development for Eastern Market Corporation (EMC) from February 2007 through January 2016. EMC is a nonprofit organization that manages Detroit’s historic Eastern Market, the largest historic public market district in the country. In total, he served as the project manager on the complete renovation of Shed 2 ($1.6 million) the complete renovation and modernization of Shed 3 ($6.2 million) and the renovation and adaptive-reuse of Shed 5 ($8.2 million). The Shed 5 project included the construction of a shared-use community commercial kitchen. These renovation projects have received numerous awards from industry and trade groups and have served as a catalyst for the Market’s rebirth. In addition to the project management work on the Sheds, Fogelman was responsible for recruitment and leasing activities as part of EMC's effort to bring new and innovative farmers and vendors to the market. This included the creation of the “Specialty Vendor” category that allowed local companies producing food products to feature and sell their products at the market. In the marketing role, Fogelman was responsible for coordinating all of the marketing activities of the Council, including newsletters, eNewsletters, website, brochures and more, and the initial marketing efforts for the successful loft conversion projects located at 6200 Second Avenue and 41 Burroughs. Fogelman is the author of Detroit’s New Center by Arcadia Publishing. Detroit’s New Center traces the history of New Center from its founding in the beginning of the twentieth century to the promising future through historic and new photos. He is also the co-author of Arcadia Publishing Co.’s Detroit’s Historic Eastern Market that tells the story of the rich history of the Eastern Market District. Before working at NCC, Fogelman was an associate at Midtown Development Group in Detroit. There he participated in all aspects of the historic renovation of 3 buildings into market rate apartments and condos. In August of 2010, Fogelman completed the National Development Council’s rigorous Economic Development Finance Certification program and is now a Certified Economic Development Professional. Randall is the GOAT

Randall is the GOAT

Randall worked us through a pretty grueling year of house hunting and selling as we left our condo for Detroit's North End. We toured over 20 homes all over the city, with Randall being instrumental in appraising construction details and forensically analyzing what we see in every room, basement, exterior. The home we found had extra rungs of administrative steps which he navigated us through fluidly alongside his team of trustworthy colleagues. Through the process Randall was also fun to hang out with and it felt like we could have candid conversations about what we’re seeing in every home, strategies for negotiating sale terms, and generous sharing of wisdom both in real estate and the nuance of construction as we were seeing it. I hope I never sell this house to look for another but if I do and Randall isn’t retired and kicking it on a beach somewhere I will absolutely call him again!

Pure Professionalism

Pure Professionalism

I think we can all agree that buying a home today is an incredibly daunting task. Cheap flips, shady real estate agents, and a market that is red-hot with demand make for a stressful environment from the get-go. I needed a professional on my side — that’s when I called Randall Fogelman with O’Connor Realty. This man gets it done. Right from the get-go Randall treated me with the utmost respect and professionalism. He’s calm, highly knowledgeable about the SE Michigan real estate market, and knows how to secure a deal. This last part is key. Like many, money was tight for myself, I couldn’t afford a $400k+ home. This was my first home after all, and I’m 26. Randall shows no bias based on how deep your pockets are. He’s got the little guys’ backs which says a lot about his character. He’ll fight for you like he did for me. Ask yourself this… when was the last time somebody saved you $5,000 cash? He helped me accomplish this in some pretty tense negotiations. He’s not the super bubbly realtor everyone has come to mind. He’s not the guy who tries to become buddy-buddy with you. He doesn’t flaunt his status or try to appear to be something he isn’t. He’s the guy that shows up to work for you, secures the deal, and congratulates you when it’s all said and done. He’ll work with your schedule, and take the weight off your shoulders, and add money to your pockets. It’s been 6 months since I’ve closed on my house, and I love my home. If you are reading this review right now and are on the fence about who you should hire as your realtor, don’t look any further. Make the call — you’ll thank yourself big time. Thank you, Randall, for your expertise and professionalism. I look forward to working with you down the road, and I know it’s going to be great.

Every transaction should go as smoothly!

Every transaction should go as smoothly!

Randall was an excellent agent and made the entire experience painless. He was able to help me with an expert cleaner to get the house in shape to sell. He was in constant contact with me, returning calls and texts within minutes of my reaching out to him. He was also sensitive to me needs and did not overwhelm me at a very difficult time in my life. He knew the neighborhood and potential buyers who he reached out to obtain the best offers. His advice on the bids was invaluable. I would highly recommend Randall, especially for transactions in the New Center area. Could not have been happier.

Extremely Knowledgeable & Trustworthy Agent

Randall helped us sell a challenging property, where the situation changed dramatically several times. He kept us abreast of creative options to make the sale work out, and worked closely with a trusted loan officer to project optimal financials. on the buyer side we have toured nearly twenty properites. Randall's experience as a builder offers forensic analysis on the details of utility systems, basements, structural nuances, and deductions about past property rehabs and uses, all of which have been invaluable in our search. I've learned so much about the processes of real estate transactions from working with Randall; he has my highest recommendation.
