I can't speak highly enough of John Mckay as my real estate agent. Selecting an agent to sell your house can be a bit tricky, to say I got lucky with John would be a huge understatement, a flyer at my door haha. But after reviewing his home sales in my neighborhood and positive reviews from others using his services, I felt he could be the man for the job. Right from the get go upon meeting John, I knew I made the right decision, extremely professional, knowledgeable of the neighborhood, comp values, detail orientated, honesty and bonus points for having a great personality. I was able to put together a list of small items to address in regards to repairs needed to be done, and cosmetic enhancements to give the house more curb appeal. With John's help I was able to trim the list, add a few issues I overlooked, and put together a plan to get these tasks accomplished. Due to the fact that I already had vacated the property, without John's help it would've been virtually impossible to get my list completed. He had contractors and handymen lined up, basically had an answer for any issue we faced. I was amazed at the results of all the projects we were able to complete before listing the property, all done in a timely and efficient manner. The listing and offer negotiations went even better, John was able to get quite a bit more money for my property than I could've ever imagined. Throughout the entire process, John was constantly in contact with me via texts/calls/emails, keeping me up to date and informed on any issue. He was also able to do this while still respecting my own work hours, knowing what issues needed immediate answers and what issues could be discussed on my free time in the evenings and on weekends. We purchased this home using John McKay as our agent 6 years ago. He was soo great we contracted him to sell it this year. I think John and his team have a very good / realistic approach to help buy / sell your home. We did not get the overblown fluff that some realtors give you when the come buy to look at your home to sell. John and Renee King told us in realistic terms what we should do to prepare our hose for sale, and what not to go overboard about. That helped us narrow down our time / workload and expenditure to get the house ready. They had a good plan on market timing, and idea of what we could realistically expect to sell the house for.
