I think about a real estate agent in the era of redfin, Zillow, etc and I wonder what else they can do besides provide entry into houses that can be previewed on the internet. The key to a great real estate agent is the relationship. They know you and what you want. They have the best details about what it will take to get a deal done. They personalize the experience in a way that an internet webpage cannot. John has this in spades. This doesn't even include his expertise on the sell side of a deal. That is where his team shines even more. They have incredible knowledge about prepping a house in a way that fits your schedule while also an innate understanding of the market. We are very happy with our experience using The McKay Home selling team. This is not our first experience with the team. One of the reasons we chose them was the level of trust we already had established selling one of our rentals. John and his team listen closely and pay attention to what you’re saying and help you understand any of the process you may not be familiar with. Buying just bare land was a first for us and without John’s help we wouldn’t have gotten the property. They made things happen during crunch time getting our offer in even as we were ready to take off on a flight, literally sitting on the tarmac with the plane being delayed they got our signatures and when we landed 5 hours later our offer was accepted. As a team they all worked hard during closing to get all documentation and anything that they could to make sure due diligence was performed on our behalf. Great guy…the BEST agent. He absolutely nailed a sale and then a buy for me. He increased the surrounding market when he sold our home in inner southeast portland in 2021. When we were ready to buy a home about a year later, he and his team threw all their time at finding me a place in an area outside of Portland though still close. We found that house in one weekend and John negotiated the sale price down when everything was selling for way over the asking price. He’s an assassin.
