About Bob

Thanks for visiting my website. If you're gathering information for a Realtor selection, please call me and any other Realtor you heard about through your friends or family. See who answers. Let's GO! These bios are typically filled with "what" we Realtors or real estate agents (there is a difference) do for you and most Realtors use this spot to try to tell you we do something different than all the others. Truth is, none of us are really that different. It's the "how" that starts to separate us but the "why" that really defines us. I started my professional career at the age of 18, in the mail room of the FBI. After completing my undergraduate degree, I became a criminal investigator and spent the next 26 years investigating crimes related to fraud, child exploitation, bombs and narcotics. In 2015, as I prepared for retirement, I realized that 26 years of being involved with people at critical times in their lives (whether suspects, victims or witnesses), made me feel like I was truly helping people, that feeling had become my passion, and it would be impossible to abandon. Real estate was my solution. People buying and selling homes are typically doing so due to some life change: marriage, divorce, birth, death, new job, losing a job, etc. Real estate is the vehicle allowing me to continue a life of public service; to work with people through major life transition periods. In addition to the state of mind created by the federal government, I was also "trained" in certain areas that bode very well for my real estate clients. * The amount of paperwork in a real estate transaction that must be completed with accuracy, discretion, and in a timely manner, is no comparison to the paperwork created in the government. * Countless criminal investigations and they all were very different. They required new ideas, sometimes out of the box, and constant attempts to push forward within legal and ethical means; just like every new home. * Countless phone calls, interviews, negotiations and third-party interactions were needed in every criminal case - just as in every real estate transition. * I am pretty confident there's not another realtor in town who has negotiated with attorneys of drug dealers. That tends to work well when negotiating a better deal for you. * Finally, my view on money is perhaps unusual. I have never had too much money, so money does NOT drive me. With a pension, I am able to focus more on the relationships than the money. * I invest in those who choose me as a Realtor because I know there are many great Realtors to choose from. I invest my time, energy and money. A considerable amount of it in advertising and exposure. * When serving as a Transactional Broker (if buyer asks to proceed without a second realtor involved), I do NOT keep both sides of the commission, rather, I give that back to you! * In the past three years, I have given over $14,000 back to my "hero" clients who serve our community via law enforcement, military (and veterans), education and health care. I've also donated over $15,000 to a Birmingham-based non-profit supporting those in need. (See TheGiveBackGroup.com). This money comes straight from my commission. * I will answer Every. Single. Time. If you've made it this far, I appreciate you! I know buying or selling perhaps your largest asset is stressful. I would love to help you with that process. I encourage you to "google" realtors in the area, speak with friends and do a little online research before you contact a few realtors to make us work. There are some fantastic realtors in town! Make us work for the chance to serve you. Best wishes to you in all your real estate pursuits. Bob Kuykendall The sky's the limit! Buying or selling can be this scary but should be this exciting!
