Jessica and I became acquainted through my popping in on an open house which she was hosting on a Sunday afternoon. The house was in a neighborhood in which I was interested but the layout of the house was not suited to my needs. Jessica politely asked me about my parameters and took down my contact information. A few days later, I received a call from her with possible properties to fit my needs and the journey began. The property my husband and I ended up purchasing presented a somewhat odd situation as it had officially been advertised as a video tour only property. Because of its proximity to the neighborhood in which my husband and I were interested, however, we asked Jessica to see if we could possibly tour it in-person. She was able to obtain access to the property for me three days in a row and by the 4th day, we made an offer. Jessica was excellent in staying in-touch with me via text msg updates and phone calls as needed. She expressed sincere interest in making sure we were informed and comfortable with the steps involved in completing what turned out to be a very quick closing. She also, at our request, referred us to other contractors to help with interior upgrades. Perhaps what I most appreciated about Jessica was her calm yet intelligent demeanor as we explored the market options together. She was always prompt and prepared when we met at a property, and she always provided me with updated and additional information regarding the properties we visited in-person. She answered my questions with thoughtfulness while not hesitating to pick up the phone on the spot to contact a listing agent for further information, if necessary. I’ve never sold a house before, so the whole process seemed like it was going to be one long arduous and overwhelming hassle. Looking back now, I know that it easily could’ve been, if not for Mark navigating me through the straits. His guidance throughout made it easy for me, and his knowledge and experience helped to anticipate and avoid possible pitfalls. I could see how you could inadvertently find yourself in a lot of hot water with an inexperienced broker, or one that’s not ethical, or detail-oriented. Fortunately, Mark was impeccable. He was also a great negotiator, getting me more than my asking price, and working with the other party in a way that had my back, without chasing them off or blowing the deal. It takes finesse to walk that tightrope, and an understanding about which compromises are reasonable and fair. Again, something I would have had no clue about. Having confidence that your realtor knows what they’re doing, and that they’re doing it with your best interest in mind is supremely comforting. That is why I can highly recommend Mark Thorngren. He made selling my house easier and less stressful than I could have ever imagined or hoped for. He also negotiated a very satisfactory deal.
