Buying a house in California has always been a dream of ours. We are recently engaged and weren’t sure that it would be possible for us in this current market. Luckily, we had Mark to help us. His experience and honesty are immeasurable. We had done all the research- everything we could google or read on reddit forum posts. We weren’t coming in blind, but we needed someone that we could trust to help with the parts that you can’t search online for. Plus, the landscape of regulations in California is constantly changing. It was so important that we had Mark on our side to navigate the experience. From the start, Mark was ready to discuss our options. He listened to our wish list and gave us some advice. He wasn’t pushy; he respected when we had small differences in opinion. But for the most part, we were on the same page as him organically. We chose a lender based on our personal opinions, and it turned out that unfortunately they became completely unresponsive during the process. We regret not picking one of Mark’s preferred lenders in hindsight. Nevertheless, Mark was steadfast and resilient. He worked with the lender we had selected despite their shortcomings. When we couldn’t get ahold of our lender to ask questions, Mark didn’t give up. At one point he facilitated them finally calling us back. He was completely professional and navigated all of the extra work and headache that it caused. We are so grateful- we could have lost this perfect home if he had not fought so hard to keep our lender involved. The process for us was so easy! We feel like we made the decisions while Mark did all the hard parts. He is passionate and truly cares about your buying experience. We are so grateful for the experience and whole-heartedly recommend Mark Thorngren for any real estate needs.

Cami is extremely knowledgeable about the market area we were interested in and was instrumental in helping us find the right houses to bid on and navigate the negotiation process. We purchased the house in March 2022 when the inventory was very low and the number of potential buyers was very high, so it was a market that greatly favored the sellers. Cami expertly guided us through this situation and in the end got us into a house that met our needs, and we are very happy with the home and the location. Cami was also sensitive to our timeline as we were near the end of our rent back period and needed to move very quickly. We were able to close on the purchase and move in before needing to engage in temporary rental and storage, and we also beat the timing of the mortgage interest rate increases. Overall it was great execution in a very challenging market environment

Mark was unfortunately tossed into a situation where a family member passed away and ultimately the home was forced off the market for three months. Combine that with a rapidly-deteriorating market and you would have expected doom. At no time during this process did he have anything but optimism that things were going to turn out great - to the benefit of my sister who would be the beneficiary of the home sale. Add in that all family members supporting the situation were hundreds of miles away, Mark took on things that weren't expected of him - primarily resulting from his long-term relationship with the owners. It came across as a genuine commitment to do the right thing. While this may not be something that would repeat in a normal sale - it does show his dedication to the sales process. He regularly kept me informed of the market conditions and we were able to quickly adapt to them - which resulted in a good offer with a pre-qualified loan. While you might assume this could have been luck - but my belief is that is was a result of responding quickly to the conditions and adapting to them. The net result was a transaction that closed ahead of schedule and a bad situation that turned into a great one. I would use Mark again if the opportunity ever arose.
