Jeffrey & I had an amazing experience working with Lou! We bought and sold our first home with him. He helped us rigorously find a home, and he is extremely knowledgeable regarding housing and asked questions to the sellers on our behalf that we could not have imagined ourselves. He provided us incredible experience, supporting our goals to obtain our dream house and also gave us suggestions to improve our experience. We recommended him to our family and friends, who all have had an amazing experience as well. Best realtor award!

Lou helped us find our house when we moved from out of state. He was patient and extremely flexible. We had to find a house in a very short period of time. We were unable to come back for the inspection, so Lou went to make sure the inspection ran smoothly. He went out to the house several times before we moved in to meet with the inspector and other contractors that needed to make some minor repairs before we moved in. Lou is extremely trustworthy. We felt at complete ease with his advice, and we still use one of the contractors he referred to us. Lou builds relationships with his clients. He is always willing to help when needed. We had a great experience using Lou.

As a first time home buyer, I was so lucky to find Lou as a real estate agent. I always heard stories about real estate agents being pushy or not being honest. But I gotta say Lou was awesome! He took the time to explain everything to us, the pros and the cons. He listened to what we wanted. When we would say lets keep looking, he would say ok. He never once tried to push us into buying anything we did not want. Whenever I had questions I could call him or text him and he would actually respond back right away! I feel Lou Herring went above and beyond in every part of our journey and he was completely honest with us. For that I will always be greatful for finding Lou Herring to be our real estate agent, and I would not hesitated to recommend him to anyone. As a matter of fact I trusted him so much I recommended him to my own mother. Having Lou Herring as a real estate agent just to buy a house, gave me also a life long friend!!

We had an extremely difficult townhouse to sell. Not only was it in a flood plain, there was a horrible renter attempting to sabotage the sale of the property. Here comes Lou Herring to save the day. He stuck with us during this difficult time, sold the property with a decent price... and was pleasant through it all! I do not believe anyone else would have been as patient and understanding. Thank you Lou for all your tenacity and good nature. If anyone needs a fabulous realtor.... Call Lou!

Lou is by far the BEST agent I have every had to opportunity to work with. If you are looking for someone to just be transactional, then Lou is not the agent for you. Honestly, not only is Lou my forever and exclusive agent with my personal and investment property, he has become a member of the family. His contact with you does not stop when you close, it continues years post your transaction. I know that I can call on Lou anytime that I need to just bounce a question off of and get direction. With Lou, it is personal as he takes and makes each of his customers family and treats them as such. For example, a couple of years ago, I discussed listing an investment property to sell with Lou, however, needed to do some major updates in order to get it ready for market. Lou was constantly there with me doing the updates to save me from having to hire contractors. He has even gone out and cut the grass of one of my properties while I was out of town and couldn’t get it done myself. He is ALWAYS looking out for the best for his customers.

We met Lou in 2010. In 2011 we wanted to sell an entry level town home, that we inherited, in Pelham. We contacted Lou. He helped put together a marketing plan. He advised us on what we needed to do to help the sale and he did all forms of outreach to sell it. Unfortunately, this was not a great time to sell real estate. We took it off of the market. In 2016 we contacted Lou again to sell it and in only a few weeks it was sold. Lou is a good friend and keeps in touch with us just to see how we are doing. We will use Lou Herring again for our next real estate transaction.

What a blessing and relief of stress! Lou helped us sell our townhouse after we had moved to Texas. He did EVERYTHING and was so transparent throughout the entire process. We did almost everything remotely via conference calls and DocuSign. He toured our home with us on the phone and gave suggestions for improvements we could have made to ensure a smooth sale. He even did the legwork to offer suggestions for trusted contractors for the projects since we were out of state, and monitored them as they did the work, keeping us informed every step of the way. We would highly recommend Lou as an honest, highly communicative realtor, and would definitely request that he be our realtor again if we have the opportunity to move back to the Birmingham area.

My family has used Lou to sell two properties and purchase one. Lou’s professionalism, experience, and attention to detail is second to none. Whether buying or selling, Lou can walk anyone through the process and look out for your interests. Next time we buy or sell, Lou will be the agent our family uses.
