As first time home buyers, we were unaware of the process and had many questions. Choosing an agent to sell your home is risky business. Most agents require at a minimum a 90-day listing, so if you are dissatisfied with your choice, then you are stuck, at least for a while. When it came time to list my house, I wanted someone who lives in and is familiar with the area and who had a reputation with the brokerage community for efficiency and dedication to her clients. Fortunately, I had a relative in that business who steered me in the right direction. She recommended, and I chose Allison Dodd and never looked back. We had two false starts–offers that were subsequently withdrawn. Allison was able to learn from the buyers’ agents in both instances that the cancellations were not due to problems with the property itself but rather for personal reasons. She assured me that these things happen in real estate and urged me not to be discouraged. Just as she predicted, we soon had a third offer. This process went fairly smoothly right up until the end, when a delay was caused by the lender. Allison explained the details to me and helped me to understand why and what to expect such that I was knowledgeable and comfortable at closing. Communication is the key in an agent/client relationship. I was kept informed from listing through closing as to when the house would be shown, any feedback gleaned from the buyer’s agent after a showing, and once under a binding agreement all deadlines, the buyer’s responsibilities, and my own. Without hesitation, I endorse and recommend Allison Dodd as the best agent in northwest Georgia.
