We first met Mugsie Quinlan when friends of ours took us to open houses and she was holding one of them. We listened to her discuss, with frankness, what the market was like in that community and how her hardest conversations were with sellers who did not want to acknowledge that they were not going to get their money back just a few years after building. If there is one thing I cannot stand it's people who refuse to answer direct questions with direct answers and she passed that test easily. No sales BS, no evading hard questions, no telling me what she thought I wanted to hear, etc. After getting back to our home I researched that community for the previous year and she was right, no home in that development had sold for more than it cost in the COVID years. Several months later we decided to move on a purchase and found her card. Mugsie performed above our expectations, offering suggestions, and advising how to negotiate and when to negotiate. She also was able to keep some of my worst impulses in check, no easy task. 😊 We live 1,500 miles away so it was not like we could go look at a home that just came on the market. Mugsie gained our trust so thoroughly that we realized we really could purchase a new home sight unseen, relying on her assessment and some FaceTime tours. I never would have believed I could do that, and comfortably, if not for her. She knew the community so well that she was able to point out differences in fittings and options between homes, things that we never would have known ourselves. The entire transaction went very smoothly and we actually saw the home for the first time the day before the closing. It was everything that she had said and more. We're extremely happy with our new home and especially with how Mugsie performed. But if you're someone who wants a Realtor who will agree with you on everything and tell you things you want to hear, hire someone else. Her reality checks helped us make good decisions and a great purchase.
