Born and reared in Oklahoma and Texas, Teresa attended Tulane University in New Orleans and Mills College in Oakland before graduating and attending graduate programs at both the Annenberg and Marshall schools at USC. She is a dedicated LA eastsider and long-time resident of LA's Eastside communities including Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre and Los Feliz.
Teresa currently lives in Altadena. She has served her community as a member of the Altadena Town Counsel, board member for NCL Pasadena, AYSO soccer coach, YWCA and La Canada Spartan League basketball coach, President of the Pacific Oaks Parents' Association, chairperson of the Board of Directors for Vox Femina LA, board member for Casa De Las Amigas recovery home and member of the Junior League of Los Angeles. She belongs to her local chapters of the Kappa Alpha Theta and Mills College alumnae associations.
