Being a sellers agent requires at least four completely different skillsets - all of which Joan and her team master beautifully. First, the agent has to be a marketing expert. How to present your house, market it, stage for maximum effect. Joan and her team did all of these things magnificently. The staging was expert, the marketing was fantastic. Next, the sellers agent has to have a deep knowledge of the mechanics of real estate transactions. There are volumes of information that have to be collected as part of the selling and closing process, conditions that must be met and terms to be negotiated. Joan and her team handled all of this perfectly. A sellers agent needs to have good selling instincts and be a skilled negotiator. How much do you ask for your home? How to evaluate the quality of an offer? How to handle offers and counteroffers? We leaned heavily on Joan during this process and she did an outstanding job - especially taking into consideration that we sold our home during a particularly turbulent time in the market.
