My husband and I began our house search in El Cerrito in Fall of 2013 with Catherine Krueger, who had been recommended to us by friends. We were first-time home buyers looking for a house in a good elementary school district for under $750k, as was everyone else in our demographic . Catherine was very patient with us as our search continued into the Spring of 2014. During this time we had made several unsuccessful offers on homes, not surprising since inventory was low and typically we were up against 10-15 offers. We finally had an offer accepted on a 3/2 that needed some work (we were ok with this) but came in below our max budget. A couple of things stood out for us while working with Catherine. First, she would check in at least once or twice per week with emails about homes that she had seen on her weekly tour that might work for us (not just the weekly listing email, which we also received from her). Catherine was respectful of our price point and didn’t try to upsell us – though obviously our house hunt might have gone by faster if we were willing to spend more. Second, she was willing to show us a house any time during the week (and she was always on time) regardless of whether there was an open house scheduled – my husband and I both work and have a small child and she was extremely flexible and accommodating of our schedules. The best part about working with Catherine was that after our offer was accepted she really went to work. We knew that our home needed some repairs but the extent of these is not always obvious from the reports or visual inspection. Catherine coordinated quotes for plumbing, roof, electrical, and pest. She scheduled everything and showed up to meet all the contractors. In our opinion this was exceptional. I’m not sure how we would have pulled this off on our own but these additional quotes allowed us negotiating power and also helped us to feel comfortable with our purchase because we were informed of anticipated costs going in.

I was amazed at Catherine's resourcefulness. Products and services for preparing our home to sell at prices I never imagined were possible and the work was performed and completed within days. Our home was sold within two weeks of listing. Her advice was so reliable and spot on. We really received the return on our home investment and more with a total of three over bids!
