Hiring Catherine Krueger as our agent was the one of the most valuable, best gifts ever. I was dreading having to sell the house that had been in the family for 55 years. Not just because of the sentimental side of it, but also all that is involved in the process. Having never sold a property before, I had no idea what to expect, and doing research on it, the whole ordeal seemed overwhelming and confusing. Everyone has a different opinion as to how it should be, or not be done. Being that I had located 350 miles away, that seemed to not be an advantage. Catherine took the reins, so to speak, and handled the whole transaction, from first step to last. Some of her actions that stood out as great customer service were as follows. Responding to inquires. She could receive a question or concern from me, in either text, phone call, or email format, and she would not delay in responding. Most of the time it was within a few minutes. She answered all questions, without a bunch of unnecessary words. In other words, she was clear and to the point. Gave her honest opinion regarding some of the issues that came up. Helped us to decide whether it would be worth it to invest time and or money in various improvement. I'm writing this review as a seller and I will say if you are looking for an agent to help you sell your home, hire Catherine immediately! The whole process for us was extremely overwhelming. We were selling the family home, dealing with a lot of emotions, no remodel budget and we were remodeling while living in the home. When we hired Catherine to help us, right away I felt so much pressure lift off of my shoulders! She went above and beyond. She gave us advice on the smallest details like paint colors and counter tops and helped us brainstorm ways to save money and make the place look great for prospective buyers. Not to mention she was always readily available at all hours for us. When it came time to sell, Catherine also had a very large network and our house was sold in less than a week for above asking price to a great family. She greatly assisted us with all of the extra tricky stuff we had to deal with during escrow that could have added a lot more stress. The last day at close of escrow she was even there helping us finish clear out the garage...including sweeping up some rat droppings. Seriously - Catherine was not only an angel but a knowledgeable, diligent professional. I'm also happy to say that I not only gained a great professional contact but a friend as well.
We hired Catherine to sell my house this year, when we were about to move out of state. We wanted a realtor with experience in selling houses in our hometown and who understood our neighborhood. Our house needed a lot of renovations and we were dreading spending the last few months of our time in California with our kitchen and bathrooms being torn apart. Catherine volunteered to oversee all the repairs *after* we moved and did a fabulous job. She coordinated the repairs, hired (and paid!) the contractors, and even bargained with them to get the best deal, all while we were out of state. She was very diligent in making sure everything got done, and the house looked fantastic afterwards. Catherine did a great job once the house went on the market as well, and really hustled to make sure interested people saw the house. When the first round of bids we got was disappointing, she convinced us that we could get more for our house and that we should hold off until we got a more appropriate bid. We did, and she was entirely correct -- a bid for about $35k more came in a week later, which was much more in line with what the house was worth. I should also point out that Catherine did a fabulous job of patiently explaining everything to us at every stage of the process. This was the first house my wife and I have ever sold, and she answered all of our questions very clearly, including hand-holding us through the bewildering paperwork the sale entailed. Her personality makes her very approachable and easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone else looking to sell their house
We used Catherine Krueger to sell our home this past summer and she was outstanding. Catherine has been selling and helping buyers find homes in the East Bay for quite some time now. She is a long time resident of El Cerrito and we knew she would be the best person to sell our El Cerrito home.
