APRIL HOWELL YOUNG

Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of working with April and Doug on the sale of our commercial property, a residential triplex in Hayward California. From start to finish, we received outstanding service, with their team to guide a professional network of service providers to get the property ready for sale, perform an accurate market analysis of comparables, show the property and complete all of the paperwork needed to close the deal. Their communication was always clear and timely and they kept us informed every step of the way. This was our first experience with selling a commercial property and they were always patient, polite and courteous in answering our many questions and concerns. Because of their understanding of the East Bay regional market, they were able to exceed our expectations and close the sale on time and without excessive costs. As a former fire department captain, Doug has a keen appreciation for building, fire and safety codes needed in assessing a commercial property. April added her knowledge of the local market and her many years of experience in interfacing with the tenants in possession and negotiating the sale. We would not hesitate to use them again.

I can’t say enough about April& Doug coming onto a complex situation with my mother’s house. For personal medical reasons, I wasn’t in a great situation to deal with the property. There were also circumstances involving some trashing of the property. It was well beyond my ability to deal with on my own, particularly since I’m in a different state, and I don’t understand CA law. April, Doug, & Red Oak to the rescue! They managed to get it cleaned out & remodeled. Worthwhile to say, it’s a rather valuable property- but one seriously compromised by the situation at the time. They managed to go for top dollar. That dollar could have been more, but they well advised me about taking the top offer. Sometimes, the highest price isn’t the best idea! Contingencies can make things more complicated than need be. A good lesson in the fact that the $$ isn’t necessarily the most important part. Freemodel did a beautiful job with remodeling and staging, the people that viewed the house were impressed with it. We closed with a higher price than I expected in the beginning.

Where can we even begin knowing that April’s skill, expertise in the BA real estate market, professionalism, knowledge and top notch negotiation skills are the reason we were able to buy our forever home?! Before working with April we were convinced we could never compete in the high stakes competitive SF Bay Area real estate market, but, April changed all of that. April’s compassion for her clients is awe inspiring and it is what allowed us to even approach the dream of being first time home buyers. April walked us through the entire home buying process holding our hands every step of the way with calm, finesse, and the positive energy we needed to get us to the finish line. We cannot thank April enough for taking what seemed like an overwhelming, daunting endeavor and quickly turning it on its head so that the entire experience of purchasing our home became a positive journey from beginning to end. Do yourself a favor if you are even thinking about purchasing a home and call April. If you put yourself in April’s capable hands, you will be more than well taken care of, rest assured.

April is an extremely hands-on agent, with an extensive network of excellent, reasonably-priced professionals and services that transformed a ho-hum and problem-riddled condo into an inviting home that commanded top dollar. April took the lead in the sale and project and she was always available for brainstorming, problem-solving, and questions. She has a great balance between sharing her wealth of expertise and market knowledge with hearing and respecting client input and concerns - I always felt in well-guided control, although in all honestly, she did all the work! It is not possible to over-state my appreciation for her help and respect for her competence.
