Michael is by far the best real estate agent Ivy and I could have asked for. We recently relocated from Houston to Denver, and Michael went above and beyond to learn our preferences as well as educate us on the various areas within Denver. We knew nothing about Denver, but Michael was always very honest with us which led me to trust his opinions more than any other real estate agent I have worked with. Never once did Ivy and I feel rushed or persuaded by Michael, which allowed us the time settle on the perfect home. One thing that really stood out about Michael before I had met him in person, was that he created a driving tour of different areas for my family and I to do leisurely. The tour included multiple houses in the market that were representative of our budget and the style of housing for that area. The tours also included shopping/coffee/dining/parks that were in the area. This was a really neat way that helped us settle on a general area. We had not asked for this driving tour, so I was very impressed that Michael offered it up before we had even met him. If you do not have a realtor yet, Michael is a must! We’ve built four homes (one custom/three spec) prior to this purchase and used a realtor twice. Since we were moving from out of state and not familiar with the area we researched top realtors in the area and Joan was the first to respond. She worked for us in a way that we’ve never experienced and I don’t think I’ll ever go into another new home purchase without using her. She reviewed every document with a fine tooth comb, pointed out things about the documents and the home, and most importantly was there for the walk through to pick out the details that I was too busy to attend to because I was being given the detailed tour and info on how the house works. That lasted 2 hours and was fast paced so there’s no way I could’ve looked at the house to pick out issues at the same time. One thing that she noticed which I didn’t because I was busy in other areas of the home was the placement of the microwave above the oven. It was clearly off center and she made sure that they fixed that prior to the move in. At the time they weren’t sure it could be done without having obvious marks, but she ensured that they would have completely reinstalled the wood paneling if the repair wasn’t up to standard… which would not have been easy! I also love that she went at my pace and let me lead the way as we’ve been through this several times but were constantly changing the parameters on what we wanted. Finally, she was very blunt and honest about a home that I was interested in and likely saved us a lot of headache. Would definitely recommend anyone reach out to Joan - especially those who are building. I had always thought we could get a discount by not using a realtor, but we discovered in a previous build that it doesn’t work like that… and that’s still the case. Given that fact, it can’t hurt to use a realtor and could really be a huge help! If you’re buying a new or existing home you’re going to want someone who is detail oriented and Joan is definitely the right person!
