About Josh

Bringing a successful record of 20 years of real estate sales on Maui, Josh Jerman has distinguished himself as both a rising star and industry leader in Hawaii real estate. This should come as no surprise, as he has proven time and time again that the market may change, but ambition never does. Josh’s team includes two business partners, Tim Stice, R(B) and Rich Wu, R(S), as well as Executive Assistant, Tammie Matsuura. Raised in Upcountry Maui, Josh attended Baldwin High School before heading to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. There, he graduated cum laude with two bachelor’s degrees, one in International Relations of the Asia-Pacific Region and the other in Comparative Religion. He has traveled the world (23 countries and counting), and has lived in Scotland and Indonesia. He has hiked to Machu Picchu and to Mount Everest’s Base Camp, canoeing the Amazon River and swam in the Ganges, sailed in the South Pacific, trekked in the North Pole and touched the Great Wall of China. Throughout his adventures, Josh developed an appreciation, awareness and respect for all people, an experience that inspired him to give back to his community. Josh returned to Maui to start his career, and over the years, he has earned a solid reputation for professionalism and personal integrity. His hard work and success has not gone unnoticed. Josh has been recognized by Pacific Business News as one of the “Top 40 Under Forty” professionals in the State of Hawai’i. He was also named one of the Maui Weekly’s Unsung Heroes of 2010 for his philanthropic endeavors. Josh was also honored as the recipient of Maui County’s Young Business Person of Year Award for 2012. He has been one of the Top 100 Realtors in the State of Hawai’i from 2013 thru 2022 and was named Realtor Broker of the Year by the Realtors Association of Maui in 2019. Josh’s expertise as a broker extends far beyond the four walls of his office in the Wailea Town Center. He has held numerous positions with the Realtors Association of Maui (RAM) since 2005, including Director-at-Large (6 years) and he currently serves as co-chair of Professional Standards, as well as also serving on the Board of Directors for the Hawaii Association of Realtors (HAR). Additionally, Josh is currently Chair of the Realtor Party (HAR) and serves on the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Major Investor Council. As a real estate columnist for the Maui Weekly, he encouraged readers to "Ask Josh" about a range of issues. In addition, as the founder of the Josh and Souk Jerman Foundation, he has given more than $69,000 to college-bound high school students across Maui County. In college I spent one month in Japan on a travel-study program with San Francisco State University and after graduating from SFSU Summa Cum Laude with a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), I worked at Natividad Medical Center (The Medical Center for Monterey County, CA) on the Surgical Floor. Prior to moving to Maui, I worked for a global medical device manufacturer, negotiating agreements with insurance carriers of all types; managing national, regional, & local accounts; providing educational presentations to healthcare professionals; and training sales and reimbursement personnel throughout the United States. Bought a Residential Property in Makawao in 2024

Josh and all of his associates were amazing! He supported my wife and I in the purchase of our new home in Pukalani. We were on the mainland and he took the time to send us numerous videos of the house to help us visualize. He listened so well to our needs and concerns. Sold a Condo in Kihei in 2024

I recently sold my Condo and Josh Jerman and Rich Wu were the listing agents. Everything from the initial listing to the final closing was handled in an extremely professional way, no question was left unanswered. They took the time to make sure the Condo was listed at the right market value in a difficult environment and they were always quick in response if you had a question, which is not that common anymore in today’s business world. No surprise that Josh was being announced the Realtor Broker of the Year in 2019 and Rich was named the Maui Rising Star 2024, awesome team, I surely will use their knowledge of the Maui Real Estate market in the future again.

Josh & Tim were a joy to work with. Navigating unprecedented market conditions they were always calm, collected and respectful. For them it’s clearly not just about getting paid, they care about finding great matches. They know the island as well as anyone, we sold our house in Haiku and they both know that area particularly well as they choose to live there. Bought a Condo in Kihei in 2024

Josh is always behind us. That is a feeling my wife and I had when he helped us find our home on Maui. Finding a home is a very short version of a life journey. It goes up and down. We made an offer to a certain house but the offer did not go through. After visiting so many houses with Josh, we finally got the one. But it was not the end of the journey. There were lot of work after signing the contract. Josh has an unlimited amount of patience. We have never seen him irritated and or frustrated. We see his smile all the time. He always listens to us very carefully and never gives up. When we need his professional advice, he is always there. In fact, he kept calling us when he was 12,000 miles away from Maui on his vacation. His advice is very crisp, decisive and professional. Buyers sometimes needs strong advice when we have to make critical decisions. He always comes to a point right there and helps us make good decisions. We strongly recommend Josh to home buyers on Maui. He is a Superstar!!

Josh handled the sale of our property. It was not simple: there were issues with title, boundaries, access, water (a spring), and sprucing up for showing on three contiguous parcels in a thickly vegetated valley in rural Maui where our family had resided for over 50 years.
