Hawaii Life - Hilo

Have you heard the stories of people packing up everything and moving to Hawaii? Yes, I am one of those people. My family decided to move and within six months we had sold everything we owned in North Carolina and arrived on the Big Island in June 2014. In our first 60 days Hurricane Iselle hit the island and we were without power for over a week. Power was restored and the lava flow from Puʻu ʻŌʻō vent from Kīlauea Volcano changed direction and headed toward our beloved Pahoa town. Through it all, the community came together to care for each other creating a strong sense of belonging and connection for me. What an amazing greeting from the Big Island! I have discovered I enjoy lots of white pineapple, wading in a warm tide pool, the sound of the coqui frogs, and nights on the lanai. I also have learned about catchment tanks, solar power, the value of a 4-wheel drive and the importance of multiple pairs of slippahs. Real estate has allowed me to share what I love about the affordable paradise of the east side of Hawaii Island.

Aloha Kakou! Much like the diverse properties I sell, I bring a unique blend of experiences and expertise to every real estate transaction. Whether you're searching for vacant lots near recent lava flows, serene rainforest hideaways, or resort-style homes on the Hamakua Coast, from Mauka to Makai, Kalapana to Waipio, I’m your local expert. With 26 years as a full-time Realtor and 20 years mentoring agents as a Broker in Charge, I’m eager to share my knowledge of Hawaii Island, its rich cultures, and the deep connection we have with our ‘Aina. Let me help you navigate this island's unique real estate opportunities. Born and raised on the stunning Big Island, I have deep roots in this beautiful place we call home. Growing up, I was always engaged in school and church activities, spending countless days on the beaches of Keaukaha and the Kohala Coast. After high school, I proudly served in the Hawaii Air National Guard, where I specialized in Computer Operations and Combat Communications. Fun fact: I’m trained in handling an M16 and was a marksman with the M9 Beretta! In addition to my military background, I’ve been a passionate hula dancer for most of my life, with the honor of performing on the stage of Hilo’s prestigious Merrie Monarch Hula Festival. Aloha, Renee

I was born and raised in Hilo on the Big Island. After high school, I left Hawaii to attend college in Denver, Colorado and pursued a degree in Veterinary Technology. Colorado’s picturesque landscapes were incredible, but I couldn’t resist the beauty of island life. Before I knew it, I was moving back home with 3 new fur-babies, which taught me all about traveling to Hawaii with pets. My initial interest in real estate took off after learning to navigate my own experiences as a homeowner. I’ve had the opportunity to work with lenders on several types of financing options. Over the last 10 years I’ve bought vacant land, sold a family home while navigating the probate process, started new home construction (twice!) from the ground up and oversaw the process through the Hawaii County planning and building departments. In addition, I am well versed on leasehold properties, specifically Hawaiian Homelands, having built my first home on leasehold land. Each of these situations came with its own set of challenges and rewards. I quickly learned that having a knowledgeable guide to educate and support me through the process was an invaluable resource. The gratitude I felt for my realtor’s sharp, but down to earth, approach inspired me to want to help others in the same way. Eventually I made the career shift to real estate, where I started as an assistant and transaction manager. These roles allowed me to learn from the best and provided me with valuable insight into the intricacies of the industry. From analyzing the market, to negotiations and paperwork, there is never a dull moment in this field. Outside of real estate, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our beloved dogs. You can also find me working with a local resource conservation and development nonprofit, trying out new restaurants, or reading a good book when time allows. My priority as your agent is to bring a unique and personal understanding to your home ownership experience. You deserve to feel comfortable and informed with every part of the process. I’m thrilled to provide insight into all that Hawaii has to offer, and pulling on my experience, will guide you as we embark on this exciting journey together! Aloha, Brandi

Aloha! Real estate isn’t just about buying or selling a house—it’s about people, stories, and finding the right place to call home. I make it my mission to bring a personal, thoughtful touch to every step of your journey—whether you're buying your very first home, expanding your investment portfolio, or anything in between. Originally from Kona and now living in my husband’s hometown of Hilo, I feel lucky to know and love both sides of this beautiful island. I grew up on a coffee and macadamia nut farm, which gave me a deep-rooted connection to the land and the people here. After earning my degree in Business Administration from UH Mānoa, my heart brought me back to the Big Island—there’s just no place like it. These days, I’m raising two incredible daughters and building a life filled with family, adventure and community. We love to travel as a family—especially to Japan, where my mom is from. That blend of cultures and experiences really shaped how I see the world and connect with people from all walks of life. As your realtor, I'm not just here to close deals—I’m here to be your guide, your advocate, and your trusted resource every step of the way. I’ll listen closely, communicate clearly, and make sure we enjoy the journey along the way too. So, if you're dreaming about making a move on the Big Island, let’s connect. I’d love to hear your story and help you write the next chapter. Aloha, Jeanette
