Buying a home in Florida today is a horrifying experience. My wife and I just completed it. It's chaotic, non-sensical in many cases and a root canal visit to your dentist might be more pleasant.
Fortunately, having extensive experience in business and understanding the importance of having the right person for the right job, our first task was to find a realtor who could act on our behalf, which was 1200 miles away. I interviewed over a half dozen agents or more. Manuela called me when it was past 9PM as soon as I sent word I was searching. She was passionate, honest, sincere and genuine. She was also experienced, listened to my concerns and answered my questions without hesitation. I did a second set of interviews with a slightly less number but again she stood out.
You can only hire an agent if you can gain a sense of trust and Manuela did that for us. But the hard part was ahead of us. We were a team, Manuela and her sales associate Marcia, who is equally awesome worked hand in hand with us to identify our needs and then the areas. Every day, new listings would come up and all of us were searching while Marcia and/or Manuela would visit properties and FaceTime with us if they appeared satisfactory. This went on for weeks. We lost a bid but got back in the saddle the next day. We narrowed down the area and eventually found what we were looking for. Manuela headed the negotiation brilliantly and also found inspectors for us. She found specialists for the pool, the roof, and the plumbing. She did everything! Marcia worked with the Title Company and our banker to make sure everything went to schedule. They even checked on the residence while in contract review. They never made any decisions without us and that's important. We knew we were kept informed of any potential mishap.
If you are buying or selling a property in Tampa, you would be doing yourself an enormous disservice if you didn't talk to Manuela Hendrickson!
