Originally from Allentown, PA, Doug Eck was led to Hilton Head Island by his father, who brought him here for a golf outing more than 30 years ago. It was love at first sight for Doug, who vowed to retire here someday. Vacationing here every year, he could wait no longer, moving to the Lowcountry in 1997. Business and real estate experience: In 1990, Doug started his own company, Fastech Technology, manufacturing a patented telecommunications product. He also owned and operated Stevens Temporary Employment Agency for lawyers, paralegals and nurses. Both businesses were service-oriented making real estate an easy transition.
