We were introduced to Marty by luck. In our early house hunting stages, he responded to our online interest regarding a property. (I always thought newbies took those calls, but his sales records say he is anything but that!) He has helped us buy 3 homes and sell 2. I can't imagine using anyone else. On the selling side, he secured offers that were over asking and in record time. Not uncommon these days. But he went above and beyond, carefully reviewing the contracts, making sure our interests were best represented, ensuring that the buyers stuck to what was agreed to. AND THE PHOTOS.....such a huge deal with most searches starting online. The photos were nothing short of amazing, both times. You don't think about the impact of good pictures until you're looking online to buy a home yourself. As a buyer, Marty is someone I always want in our corner. We thought we knew what to look for, but there were always extra items he pointed out that we hadn't noticed. He never tried to sway us from a property, just exhibited a genuine passion and inquisitive nature. He explained things that may not be as apparent and looked a further into things that seemed odd. He seems to gauge the level of advice and guidance you want, and then does not overstep. He helped us buy homes that were towards the higher end, but also one that was on the lower end. (A few houses we had him show us, ended up being downright frightening!) But his interest and dedication was no different across price points. In fact, he spent more time, showed us more homes, and put in more offers, on the smaller (less expensive) home we were buying for a family member. Marty was extremely professional, yet never stuffy. He was knowledgeable, without being pushy. He always had a little joke or amusing comment, he definitely made everything painless--even fun. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars.

We had just seriously decided to begin our house search. I had a realtor who had retired, so we were doing as much on our own as possible. We were out driving by properties and had a couple open houses to stop at this particular day in Gambier. We met Martha at the second one. She let us look a few minutes and walked around with me a little. As is his habit, my husband was all over the house and wandered back to find Martha and I in deep discussion. Fashion maybe, we were bonding. I don't remember exactly but she knew that house was a bust for us. She wasn't pushy or disappointed acting as some sales people are wont to do. We drove to meet her at another home in Gambier that afternoon and advised her that we were keeping her. We found her very down to earth and understanding that we just weren't finding what we wanted. She committed to us from the start and we are keeping her to sell our house too. The purchase was simple and easy to understand. Martha explained all the paperwork and processes. We even changed our method of payment halfway through, yet she made sure the closing still took place on time. Of course we had a few snags and weird requests along the way. But Martha knew what we wanted and stood her ground for us when needed. She also got us a great price on the perfect home for us. We both couldn't be happier with her.
