I first met Daniela over a decade ago when I was trying to rent my first apartment in Boston, and she was the landlord’s agent. What struck me in my interactions with her then was her moral compass. The other person viewing the apartment at the same time as me was trying to negotiate paying extra under the table in order to get the apartment, but Daniela was firm that she would honor the first come, first serve commitment and the other terms as advertised in the rental listing. When it came time for me to look for my first home, I immediately thought of Daniela because of her integrity and the way she prioritizes relationships first and foremost. She has deep expertise in the greater Boston area real estate, that there were times she was teaching new things to the seller’s agents that we met over the course of our search. We really appreciated her experience and knowledge, and we also benefited greatly from her vast network of trusted professionals, from lenders to painters. I’d be remiss, though, not to emphasize her support through the more emotional side of first-time homebuying. I think the intense fear, anxiety, and decision paralysis that can accompany the process of buying your first home is often not talked about. She was patient as she guided, but not push us, to consider what we wanted in our first home. I often joked with Daniela that she simultaneously served as a realtor and therapist throughout this process; there were many times I called her feeling overwhelmed, and without fail, she would listen with compassion and offer thoughtful advice. Even after closing, Daniela has continued to check in to make sure we are doing well, because she’s not in this business purely for the money, and she genuinely cares for her clients’ happiness. Daniela has a lifelong client in us, whether we buy, sell, or rent in the future.
