Having such a strong and determined partner helped immensely. Her ability to quickly establish a price floor and negotiating tactics allowed us to get full value for the home, while mitigating unqualified offers and ridiculous requests for improvements. Even a few "cold feet" on behalf of potential buyers didn't discourager her from staying aggressive with a marketing strategy that ultimately found just the right buyer for the property. She was also, instrumental in locating our new home site, guiding us through the process and coordinated the transition from our home of 25 years to our retirement dream home. "As POA for mother-in-law's residence, I had to oversee the sale to help her move to a congregate residence. Coming from out of town, in fact, out of state, I lacked the firsthand knowledge of the available and qualified listing agents for her home sale. In mom's neighborhood, I spotted three agents' yard sighs and took a reference or two from her neighbors and interviewed 5 agents. I stressed the need for a quick sale without compromising the sale price, the agent would need to manage the bidding, and the agent would need to financially screen the bidders to ensure quick closure. In the interview with Kimberly, I showed her the papers related to attorney status and her ownership of the residence and quickly walked through the home, and all other agents just didn't measure up. Her listing nearby had sold just a few weeks earlier so I knew she could produce and she knew and fully understood the reasoning of my requests.
