We had to move because I lost my job in Denver and got the next one in Washington, DC. The market in our neighborhood was slow with properties sitting on the market for many months. I was already living in a basement apartment in DC for my job while my family tried to live in a staged house in Colorado. I was very worried that this situation could last for a long period of time, which would have been dreadful. At the same time, we did not want to sell our house under value as house prices in the DC area are not much lower than around Denver.
