Whitney is deeply connected to Coronado. Before completing his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Sarah Lawrence College (New York) and Pepperdine University (Malibu), respectively, he graduated from Coronado High School. He was raised in Coronado, where he has lived and worked since he came back home to raise his family.
As a former Coronado City Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem, Whitney is well-versed on municipal land use and housing policies that help inform his practice. Prior to building his real estate business, he was a marketing and public relations executive for a leading San Diego-based public affairs company. A rental housing expert, Whitney also ran the San Diego office of the California Apartment Association—the largest rental housing association in the country—where he advised and advocated on industry matters and was often called upon by the media to share his opinions on the housing market.
When he isn’t working, Whitney enjoys playing tennis, cooking, traveling, writing for local publications, and spending time with his wife and three children.
