Tara Stirk

We started working with Tara in 2021 when we decided to move closer to family in southern CT. Living an hour away, working full-time, and welcoming our first child into the world, it was very difficult for us to find time to view houses. Tara was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable from the very beginning, and she constantly offered flexibility to our very hectic schedule. In an insanely competitive market she made it clear what it would take in order for us to get what we wanted. Unfortunately, many of those wants were priced and bid on way out of our range. We paused on our search for a while, hoping the market would improve. Even when we said we “weren’t actively looking”, Tara kept us in mind and offered potential good fits. Spring, 2024 and the market was still competitive. Tara knew exactly what we were looking for and would encourage us to go aggressive on bids when the house might be right for us, but also would caution us from putting in outrageous offers when she knew it wasn’t the right fit. In August, 2024 we finally found “the one”! She encouraged to put in a competitive offer, while also making sure we stayed within our price range by putting other incentives in the offer. I truly believe it was her extensive experience that was the reason our offer was accepted. We couldn’t be happier, and owe all of it to Tara! Thank you so much for finding our family the home we had been searching for!

We were so happy to have Tara by our side as we purchased our first home. She was incredibly patient as we looked at many different homes in a few towns to zero in on what we wanted, never rushing us and offering her own observations from years of experience. She earned our full trust by pointing out things that we'd overlooked (water stains on ceiling, shoddy craftsmanship), even if it meant that we'd be less likely to pursue a property. It never felt like she pushed us to put in an offer. Tara was also very responsive, always getting back to us on questions within a few working hours. She worked her knowledge of the towns to check for open permits, evidence of oil tank remediation, etc. Once we had an offer accepted, she also guided us through inspection, getting a mortgage, and finding insurance and was available for our questions. Buying a home is stressful, but we're so grateful that Tara was there to support us!

Buying a new home can be an overwhelming experience. There are so many odds and ends that, especially for a first time home buyer, could make you want to stop your search and give up. When you have Tara Stirk on your side, all of the difficulties and challenges disappear. Her knowledge of the market and her overall professionalism are unmatched. She makes everything so effortless that all we had to focus on was picking out the houses we wanted to see. No matter what time it was, or the request we had, Tara was there to answer our questions and put our minds at ease. Buying a house isn’t always easy. Tara makes it easy. Working with Tara has been an absolute pleasure! Our home buying process spanned over a year, and any time something popped up she made herself immediately available to take us to see it. Every showing we went to was highly informative, she made sure we were seeing everything we needed to see, and most importantly never let us settle on something that wasn’t right for us. Tara knew what we were looking for and in the end got us our perfect home!

I came across Tara’s profile on Zillow and reached out without any reference and I was nervous. And then Tara showed up. Tara made time to come look at our house during a snowstorm and held our hands through the whole process. She volunteered to help us with anything including installing smoke detectors, collecting paperwork and more. I don’t plan on buying or selling a house anytime soon but I would call Tara immediately if I was. I am so grateful for her help and knowledge. I would recommend her to anyone!
