In the fall of 2017, my wife and I moved permanently to Washington State in order to care for family members. One month before we moved, we contracted with Summer Knight to sell our home in Santa Barbara. We selected Summer because of her many years of experience in the local real estate market and straightforward, no-nonsense approach to real estate sales. We were not disappointed. The sale of our home was more complicated than we anticipated. We suspended the listing and added a tenant to the home shortly after we listed it. Beginning in winter 2018, we quietly re-listed the home for sale with the tenant still living in the home. This proved to be difficult to do. In late summer 2018, we needed to replace the heating system and perform other repairs to the floor of the house. Summer was invaluable in helping us manage these construction projects from our new home in Washington. In March 2019, we found a buyer for our home. Summer was instrumental in orchestrating the sale, which involved contingent sales of two other Santa Barbara homes, and transfer of the tenant's lease to the buyers. Throughout this 16 month process, Summer was the consummate professional.
