Shannon took me on as a client when my FSBO endeavor was wearing on me. She approached me by phone and explained how she could help. We met at the property and after having been courted by so many seller agents prior to our meeting, I knew she was the one. I was selling my childhood home FSBO by way of a POA for my 91 year old father. It was a very unique and very large 1965 home that he had built himself so it was very custom to the time it was built and had not ever been renovated. She took that as a challenge. She knew the potential the property had being on two acres in Fairfax County. She marketed the home in several ways for the best exposure. She also knew the buyer pool for this home would also be very unique and probably quite small and always had an approach that catered to each type of buyer group. Would it be a developer that just wanted the land? Would it be a religious organization looking to expand or a business owner needing residential space to run a home business without the interference of an HOA? Shannon dealt with so many potential buying situations but always kept my father's expectations in the forefront by not allowing anyone to undervalue the property for the sake of a quick sale. In the end, although a long road, the offer that my father accepted was from a young family that will now turn his once dream home into their dream home with a plan to renovate the property with fresh 21st century ideas and modern technologies.
