Knowledgeable and Helpful

Randall was great to work with. As a first time homebuyer, his knowledge of Detroit history, home construction, and transaction details made the whole process way less overwhelming. This guy knows the ins and outs of the Detroit market, and he was quick to answer all of our questions.

Excellent Experience

I had an awesome experience working with Randall to sell my house. He really knows his stuff—especially when it comes to historic homes in Detroit. His knowledge of the area, the architecture, and what buyers are looking for made a huge difference. From day one, he was super easy to work with—professional, friendly, and always quick to respond. He gave great advice on pricing, and handled everything smoothly from listing to closing. We ended up getting a great offer faster than I expected. If you’re looking for someone who understands the ins and outs of Detroit’s historic neighborhoods and actually cares about helping you through the process, Randall is your guy. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Market knowledge, communication, professionalism, AND PATIENCE: Randall excels in all.

Market knowledge, communication, professionalism, AND PATIENCE: Randall excels in all.

We contacted Randall in 2022, I believe. Wanted to buy a little one-story house on a lake. Thus began our trip through Real Estate land, with stops along the way at condos and high-rise apartments on the River, until we eventually faced our dilemma: We'd gotten too old to take care of anything, even ourselves. Randall stayed with us all the way through, and with some shrewd bargaining, ended up selling a big rental property we owned for big bucks.

Superb home buying experience with Randall

Superb home buying experience with Randall

We relocated to Detroit, from out of state, and were keen to have a City-based realtor. We met Randall at an open house where it was obvious he radiated knowledge about all things Detroit, and Detroit real estate, so it was a no-brainer to work with him. Throughout our interactions Randall was consistently helpful, insightful and thoughtful, plus he’s just incredibly easy to be around. We were fortunate to have sold our house and were able to look at homes with an eye to make an offer quickly if needed. Randall helped us work through the maze of options from style to neighborhood, listened to our naive questions and joyfully went with us to every place in which we were remotely interested. His understanding of Detroit housing, building and real estate was invaluable including the home tax structure in Detroit. That’s the true value of a great realtor, to understand the housing needs of clients, and to guide them to the best fit. Randall succeeds at this every single time Within a few weeks we had decided on the location, the style, and size of home, and finally made an offer. After brief negotiations, again where we felt Randall represented our interests perfectly, a purchase agreement was signed and so began the race to close. To meet the tax rebate requirements, we had 20 days to close on our new home. That we achieved this was massively due to Randall, and the professional network he could leverage to keep everything moving along, including liaising with Michigan Department of Treasury about the tax break. It seemed to us that Randall was the central cog in this network! Finally, when we moved in we realized a kitchen cabinet shelf was incorrect, and there was no garage door opener. Randall found out from the seller both were lost, and two days later turned up with a new garage door opener AND a shelf he custom fit in his workshop. Damn! While we have sworn to NEVER move again, if we did there is no doubt in our minds Randall would be our first call.

Knows his stuff

Randall is a super knowledgeable realtor not just about the Detroit real estate market from his many years working/ living here, but also about home construction. He'll walk you through a house and quickly/ easily will explain to you if it's a house worth buying or not - a real asset in a world where many realtors just want to sell you a house based on "do you like it?"

Lofty Expectations Exceeded: A Seamless Buying Experience!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Randall to purchase our loft in Midtown, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the experience. From start to finish, Randall was knowledgeable and genuinely committed to helping us find the perfect property. His deep knowledge of the Detroit market was invaluable, especially as we navigated neighborhoods and unique opportunities in the area. What really stood out was Randall’s attention to detail and ability to handle challenges seamlessly. Whether it was negotiating on our behalf, coordinating inspections, or ensuring every document was in order, he made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Thanks to Randall, we now have a beautiful loft that we absolutely love. If you’re looking for a real estate agent who goes above and beyond, we wholeheartedly recommend Randall. His expertise and dedication are unmatched!

I was looking for a place in the city and Randall really knows the market having lived there for over 25 years himself. He has been a great resource for all aspects of city living. He was professional and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Knowledgeable Agent, Very Responsive, Indifferent Attitude

Overall, my wife and I found a house that Randall helped facilitate. He's well prepared, clearly knows the city, and assisted in our post-closing activities by providing a guide booklet that made life very easy for me as an out-of-state buyer. That said, Randall was better with paperwork than he was with people. The home-buying process was less than ideal. During the four-month process, my wife and I often commented that we were treated more like a business transaction than first-time home buyers who needed help and support. We ran into a couple of snags during our first few initial offers. (Not all his fault, though some deals fell through due to poor communication with the selling agents.) Along with trying to determine the correct amount to offer, I found Randall to often be short, impersonal, and tended to talk down to me as I struggled to come to a decision. Maybe some people look for that kind of directness in a buying agent, but I needed more support and less abrasiveness. For the key exchange/walkthrough, which happened 10 days after closing, I pulled up to the house and had to awkwardly introduced myself to the seller because Randall was busy taking some of the carpets out of the house that the seller was leaving behind. (I assume he'd be selling them or using them for other houses he's selling.) Instead of assisting us during the last, crucial moment of home buying, he was already busy working on his next sale. He even left early -- only coming inside for the walkthrough to have me and the seller sign the deposit waiver -- because he had another appointment to get to. The thing is, there were positive qualities about working Randall, but my wife and I are likely only going to remember the negative, which is sad. Would have loved to tell others about how much we loved our first home buying experience, but I just don't see that happening. I'm sure there will be great reviews for Randall on this site, but our final review is ultimately a shrug.

Great Knowledge & Great Help

As a first time home buyer I was lucky to have found Randall. He has years of knowledge and experience living in the Detroit area and helped me find a great home and great resources to feel comfortable embarking on home ownership for the first time. Him and his team were lovely to work with.
