This real estate transaction was not very pleasant because I felt I had to fight for every request -- and there weren't many requests. We found the house (we spent two days looking) it was a cash deal and a short escrow -- I think we're pretty much dream clients. Michele was pleasant enough the weekend we looked at houses. Part of the problem was a most unpleasant attorney but Michele accused me of "stalling" our closing because I insisted the heating system be functioning properly and the actual delay was due to several issues with the seller and the title. She had to leave town right before the closing so we ended up going to the seller's agent to have necessary repairs made. Michele did manage to get back in town in time to collect her check at the closing. This was our first real estate transaction in New Jersey and instead of having one person -- our agent -- to deal with you also have an attorney and they both loved to say "you have to ask your attorney" or "you have to ask the agent". Right up until the day of closing and getting the keys I've never had to make so many phone calls and jump through so many hoops to get information that should have been given to me without asking.
