She graduated from Durant High School in 2008. After graduation Melissa continued her education and received a degree in Medial Billing. She spent 9 years working in the health care field. With a third child on the way, Melissa began to look into a career change that would give her a more flex able schedule to balance her personal life with her work. She developed a passion for real estate after attending an investment workshop which inspired her get her Florida real estate license.
