Lucy helped me sell my home while I was 2000 miles away. She could not have made the whole process any easier. She is very detail oriented and very quick to respond to any questions. She kept me informed of every step of the transaction. She is very pro-active and will not hesitate to improve the landscaping and decor of the house herself. Lucy shepherded us through what was--to us at least--an intense and complex home buying experience. As newlyweds embarking on our first home purchase, we had a ton of questions, and very little experience and comparatives. She quickly helped us narrow down and define our wants, needs and preferences, while educating us on the process in a thoughtful manner which allowed us to make the critical decisions with as much information as possible. She offered us several days of tours, sent us listings at the pace that we requested (which changed a couple of times, due to our own life circumstances), and made herself quite available for showings when open houses were not feasible. When we did find the house that we wanted, we had a lot of challenges with the seller's agent, who delayed paperwork until the last possible moment (sometimes beyond the deadlines with no communication), then would turn around and send demands that we respond to requests immediately (even if out of town). Lucy went above and beyond here, maintaining a functioning relationship with the seller's agent despite these challenges and helping us keep perspective and sanity during the process. She even followed up on some of the paperwork which should have been the seller's responsibility in order to help keep things on track, all while advising us and helping us negotiate a -very- good price in a seller's market. Once we did close, she gave us recommendations for several reputable contractors to assist on the immediate improvements, and gave us advice to help jump-start our aspiring DIY tendencies. In brief, I am not sure we could have done this without her expertise, her calm presence, consideration and availability. It was a long process but we found a home within our budget that we love, and that we hope will offer us many years of comfort and security.

As a first time home buyer I was pretty naive about the process. My first question to Lucy was, "With all the services out there like Zillow and Redfin, why do I need an agent?" After Lucy outlined the steps to bidding and closing on a home I was dismayed at how complicated buying a house could be, but relieved I had a knowledgeable guide to lead me through it. As a result, I was able to buy a home I love at a price within my range.

We bought a home in a very difficult seller's market and I strongly believe we couldn't have done it without the advice and dedication of Lucy Armentrout.
