I’m Katy, a listing agent on the Upstate Curious Team. I’m passionate about helping a wide variety of clients sell their properties, and pride myself on being a great listener, grounded, and a reliable helping hand in what can often be a stressful process.
I am organized and detail-oriented, and maintain perspective even when emotions and stakes are high. I can quickly evaluate each unique sale situation and find common ground, despite the challenges real estate can throw at you.
I got my license when I was buying my own home in Brooklyn in 2011. I felt like I didn't understand the process and wasn’t happy with how it was being explained to me, so I decided to just get licensed myself. It hadn’t been the plan, but by the time I closed on my house, I was already working for a brokerage.
I grew up in Lake Peekskill, NY and lived in Brooklyn for 15 years after college. I bought a small house in Mountaindale five years ago, and after a few years of weekend visits, decided that being upstate full-time was the thing for me! My little town has a tight-knit and welcoming community, and is near fantastic hiking and dining.
Prior to real estate, I put my MFA from Yale (*note: Katy didn't want to brag about this but our editorial team overrode her ;) to good use running a gallery in Brooklyn for several years, in addition to stints in the events and fine dining spaces.
