About Ian

I grew up on a small family farm just outside of the city limits of Bellingham where a strong work ethic was ingrained in me. I eventually graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. I worked to put myself through school, and when I wasn’t taking classes, I was on jobsites building homes and commercial buildings around Whatcom County. In the summers I went commercial fishing in Alaska, which is how I was able to graduate with no student debt and buy a home shortly after college. That thrilling feeling is what I enjoy most about helping others achieve their goal of homeownership. Purchasing my first home helped solidify the importance of real estate. I loved construction and building homes, but understanding real estate became an obsession for me. I quickly learned the power it holds to achieve personal and financial goals while creating generational wealth. That passion ultimately led me to build KrauseHauss — a brand centered around strategic real estate investment, high-quality homes, and long-term wealth building in Whatcom County. I started a management company for short-term rentals which has helped facilitate passive income for my clients, while simultaneously offering great homes for visitors to Bellingham. Through KrauseHauss, I am equipped to help clients purchase investment properties in Bellingham or Whatcom County that provide steady cash flow while allowing them to remain hands-off with management if they choose. Most recently, I am a proud new father. Like many of you know, parenthood reshapes who you are. It has made me want to instill the same hard-working values in my son, just as my father did for me. I know Bellingham as well as anyone. I have over a decade of construction experience building and remodeling homes all over the county. I am dialed in with short-term and long-term rental rates and regulations.
