With my wife's passing I wanted to get away from the area where she had suffered so much, away from the roads we had driven week in, week out to see doctors and undergo treatments and get to a place where we had wanted to be, Naples. More than that, I wanted to sell the house that no longer felt like a home, lock stock and barrel with a minimum of fuss, quickly but at a price that would preserve the value of my neighbors property. Mike & Heather understood the situation (Full disclosure, I have known them both for almost 20 years). I met with Mike in January 2019 and gave him my requirements in terms of involvement (or lack of in this case - I just couldn't face all the sorting through the accumulation of 40 years of being married). I took advice from Mike, a Cowboy fan, on repainting the kitchen - he had a problem with the existing burgundy & gold, go figure! I then headed to Florida and left Mike to deal with staging, showing and selling the house. Short sentence but that was a massive undertaking - we had left the house after we had taken the personal effects we were keeping. Mike had to move furniture into the basement and garage in order in order to take photos and to show the house, then arrange with a local auction house for the house to be emptied. The sale - yes, I almost forgot. The home went 'live' on MLS on a Friday evening in early March and I accepted an offer at the asking price before noon the following day. I can never thank both Mike and Heather for their kindness in being sensitive to my unique real estate needs, and the professional way in which they conducted the entire process. Losing a partner and relocating shortly thereafter was a torrid, emotional, numbing experience. I was fortunate that the way Heather & Mike handled everything in selling the house in Leesburg did not create one moment of additional pain.
