Market knowledge, but feel like he was mostly in it for the commission. The sale felt buyer focused.
The commission followed industry standard for a case like this, but there really wasn’t much in it for me. The house sold with a single off-market viewing, with no real necessary prep required on behalf of the agency. In this case, the sale was simple (so, we agreed at 3%, which still concluded to a pretty nice compensation in this case if you ask me) … However, communication was minimal. Many times I felt like key progress wasn’t discussed as often as I would have liked. It made me feel anxiety not knowing where things were at. I asked for a copy of the inspection a couple of times and never received it. We did eventually close (with only a few days notice that things were final), and I moved on, but it wasn’t the greatest experience getting there, especially after the reality of the commission set in. Not much in it for me in that regard, as mentioned. … If I had to do it over again, I would have held out and upgraded a little on my own and listed the home to the general market, I could have benefited a little more financially from the sale. What’s done is done :-)
