I’m sure everyone is familiar with how tough the housing market has been in the past year. Crazy bids, high prices and shorter sales, securing a home in 2022 has been no easy feat. What a godsend Carolyn Phillips was for my family…At the time, my wife and I had been searching for houses for nearly 6 months with another realtor to no avail. The frustration had mounted and we weren’t sure if we would be able to secure a home for our family in the area we wanted to reside before the spring. Then Carolyn arrived. Our first encounter, though rather serendipitous, is no less a measure of her warm and welcoming personality. She invited me to tackle a look at a property she was selling that already had several bids, but she invited me nonetheless and at the end of the visit she presented me with her business card, which at the time I wasn’t sure I’d ever use, but I kept it in my car console. When my wife and I decided that it was finally time to try a different realtor because our interest lock was expiring, it was her business card I turned to. I swear, I called Carolyn on a Monday, the same Monday our previous realtor had become unavailable, she showed us two properties the same day, and by that Thursday (Thanksgiving day coincidentally) she had secured an agreement on the property we were interested in. As I type this review from the comfort of my new home, I am reminded of her flexibility, care, and talented negotiating skills. Anything she could do to assist us with the sale of the home she worked out. Undoubtedly, I feel as if Carolyn is a part of my own family, as she worked tirelessly on our behalf. We had a fantastic experience buying our home with Carolyn! She was fun to work with as we narrowed down our options and once we found “the house” she really went to bat for us with a pretty difficult seller and seller’s agent. She was persistent, realistic, and so calm through a frustrating negotiation process. Carolyn was also really helpful in educating us along the way. Most people don’t buy houses everyday so it can be really mystifying , but we knew Carolyn would have the answers for us and we always felt comfortable asking questions.
