Ben helped us find our home in Portland when we were new to the area. He had great knowledge of neighborhoods and was able to point out details about a house that we wouldn’t have been able to tell ourselves - e.g.roads that get super busy during rush hour. He took our list of attributes we needed/wanted and helped assess each home based on that. Even after the home buying process was complete, he has been a wonderful resource for recommendations from contractors to things in the area we’d enjoy. Highly recommend!
We were buying our first home and had no clue what we were doing. We also had the additional challenges of buying a home out-of-state, and doing so during the Covid-19 lockdown. We almost made the huge mistake of trying to buy the house ourselves without an agent, since we already had a house in mind. Fortunately, we did not. After deciding using an agent would help us through the paperwork, we contacted Ben and immediately felt comfortable with him not only as an agent but as a human being. He’s very easy to talk to, asks you the right questions, and doesn’t get frustrated when you ask him probably dumb ones. Throughout the process, he always gave us a heads-up on what the next steps were and didn’t let us miss a deadline. Buying a house, especially your first one, is a confusing and often stressful process, and his diligence and knowledge kept us feeling calm about everything. Ben was a great agent for us in all aspects. There are probably a lot of good real estate agents out there but there are definitely some bad ones and Ben is a good one. We never once got the impression he was just in it for a commission check, he genuinely wants to find the right house for you and he'll give you an honest opinion to questions. The whole process went about as smoothly as I think it could have under challenging circumstances and Ben was a key piece in making that happen.
