Jodi is an amazing negotiator; I'd say that was her strongest skill for us - and our most needed. She fought hard to get us the best deal possible, both in the initial negotiations and after our inspection turned up several things that needed to be fixed before closing. She was a strong advocate for us in a tough sales process.
We interviewed 5 other agents and had them prepare their strategy and met with each one. Someone from Jodi's office called and suggested that I talk to Jodi for 5 minutes. I did so and then we met with her and decided to go with her over the 5 agents we had already considered and had recommendations for. We think that was a good decision. We greatly appreciate all Jodi's efforts to help us sell our long-time home and her persistence through the time it took to make it happen. Needless to say, it was not easy for any of us but the result was positive and a great relief to us. Jodi had also discussed our renting our home if we could not find a buyer and that was important, even though not our preference, but we had to face all the possibilities. We had also been told by two other agents that we needed to set the initial price at $525K in order to sell the house and Jodi was able to prove them wrong. We knew it was an unusual property but we needed someone who could look at that as an opportunity for the right buyer and not an excuse to sell cheap and move on. Thanks to Jodi for her efforts to help us find the right buyers and complete the sale on good terms for everyone. I hope the new owners will be happy there. We were very happy with our experience in our recent house sale in Chapel Hill. Although it took considerably longer time to sell this house than our past houses - sold in 4 to 9 days - in three other states we've lived. This is because, we believe for this one we did not start the sale until later part of the year. However, the house was sold right away just before we plan to put it on the market again in February this year. Throughout the entire process, Jodi was working diligently and kept us informed in her efforts and strategies. She has set up three open houses for us. Her colleague at the Real Estate Experts, Boyce Duffie, according to our neighbors who attended the open house, did an excellent job in presenting the house. During the sells period and after we moved away to our new home, the house was left empty. Jodi placed enlarged printed pictures on easels to show our furniture arrangements in various rooms. Our property is in the Chapel Hill area but we live in another state. It was particularly important for us to work with an agent who uses the Web effectively for marketing and who uses email, text, phone, and electronic documents to keep in touch throughout the process. Jodi emailed an excellent presentation packet when I first contacted her, a big factor in our choosing her over the other three agents I approached.
