Dan Dodd served an incredibly important role for us when we sold our Glen Park home this past summer. He told us what we needed to hear, not what we wanted to hear. All too often, a real estate agent can be motivated to close deals and move on to the next opportunity. After all, there’s no way to know what a home could sell for, and agents’ motivations are often misaligned with those of their client. In our case, Dan’s assessment of the market – during the choppy times of Covid – was nothing short of prescient. He continually shared with us his unfiltered perspective (often being news we weren’t thrilled to hear) and was a level-headed sounding board and thought partner throughout an extremely stressful time. Knowing our goals but working with what the situation and marketplace handed to him, Dan navigated a challenging environment with a tougher-than-normal home to move and did so with grace. We can’t envision finding another agent with the integrity, patience, perspective, confidence and results that Dan has.

My wife and I purchased our first house earlier this year with Dan's help. We came in with very little understanding of the house-buying process but if Dan was ever annoyed by our numerous naive questions, he never showed it. He patiently set up appointments for us to see a range of places to help us narrow down what we wanted, gently guided us to make offers he felt were appropriate for the property, and helped maneuver us to be the most attractive offer available. When we couldn't make up our minds on a fixer upper, Dan reached out to a contractor to quickly come by and provide clarity on our options. In short, Dan's great. The worst part of buying a house with Dan is we don't get to hang out with him much anymore, but I couldn't imagine working with anyone else.

Who would think that the process of selling one's home from hundreds of miles away would be seamless and thoroughly enjoyable? We were given Dan’s contact information, spoke on the phone, and hired him on the spot. We owned a condo in San Francisco that needed some updating and staging. This, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and our having moved out of the area. Dan and his partner, Hiro, saw to arranging all the painting, new carpets, updated appliances, repairs and staging...and we never had to leave our home. Our property was listed, and sold above ask in three days. We couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to meet Dan in person when we visit the Bay Area. Buying a house in San Francisco is not an easy task under normal circumstances. Buying a house in S.F. in the middle of a deadly pandemic with an “energetic” one year old in tow made a difficult situation even more challenging. Enter Dan Dodd! He’s so great! We actually looked forward to seeing him, and house hunting became kind of enjoyable? Maybe our standards are low right now because of pandemic living, but all joking aside, we couldn’t have asked for a better real estate agent than Dan. Dan is genuinely interested in being your real estate agent for life. He lets you know that he wants to make sure you buy the house that’s right for you. He started off our house hunting by showing us a bunch of properties so he could get a sense of what we liked and didn’t like. He was endlessly patient with all of our questions, and even sent us listings that met our criteria, but weren’t formally listed yet. Having Dan Dodd as your real estate agent is like having someone at the top of their game, shepherd you though an extremely competitive sport that you know nothing about, and through their expertise helping you win. We ended up buying a super awesome house, in an amazing location, with an avocado tree in the backyard!
