We went into our house search determined to find exactly what we wanted, and honestly, that didn’t involve the “typical realtor experience.” I called on several properties and quickly ran into agents who seemed more focused on selling themselves than the homes they represented. Some even wanted us to sign on with them before really discussing properties. Then I called about a listing and met Jim. I came in with a long list of very specific questions, and instead of giving me a sales pitch, Jim gave me honest answers. He was upfront about the scope of the project, took time to explain things instead of pushing a sale, and made a genuine connection with us. That particular property didn’t work out, but I already knew who I’d call when we found the right one. When we eventually purchased our home in Rothbury, we did it remotely while my husband was in Alaska, and Jim somehow made the process feel easier than some in-state purchases we’ve done. He’s incredibly detail-oriented, handled virtual walkthroughs without missing a beat, entertained all of our “weird” questions, and checked details we never would have thought to ask about ourselves. His background in construction was also a huge asset and gave us confidence throughout the process. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jim or his team to anyone looking for someone knowledgeable, honest, patient, and genuinely helpful.

Had a great experience buying my first home with Jim! He is knowledgeable not just in home buying, but also home building which felt like an advantage as a first time homebuyer with no real experience. Always received prompt responses whenever messaging - even on weekends and holidays, oops! - and I never felt like I had any “dumb questions.” I had already been pre-approved but Jim recommended getting multiple quotes and offered references for lenders; ended up shopping around and going with one of his suggestions, which ended up saving thousands. While walking through homes Jim would point out suggested repairs, what it would take to fix, how extensive, and estimates of cost or whether he thought it could be done myself. He provided recommendations on repair services, including being willing to assist himself on repairs. When it came time to place a bid on a house, Jim provided guidance and best recommendations for a successful offer, helping to decide whether to bid what the house is worth vs what it’s worth to me. Overall, had a great time looking at houses with Jim, listening to his advice and learning from his personal expertise with building homes. Really felt like his opinion could be trusted and gives you the sense that he’s looking out for you with every home viewing.
