I cast a net on Zillow and got a million responses from realtors. I received texts from an untold number and spoke to three. I sensed a BS pattern right away except for one. Unlike other realtors I interviewed, who tended to say what I wanted to hear, I chose Austin for his candid approach. He provided constructive advice about improvements I should make to the property; how to prepare for the photo session; and how he arrived at a correct asking price we agreed upon which turned out to be spot on with the appraisal - all of which, I feel, led to quick responses from prospective buyers. So the rest it would seem would be smooth sailing but there were challenges. Due to no fault of his, my experience wasn't the smooth deal I had expected. It tested my patience as well as it proved his mettle. Challenges arose when inspection matters had to be corrected and also when buyers flaked out. Being proactive, Austin was ready with a Plan B when a party didn't respond to a time sensitive request, for example. He dug deep, above my expectations, when I needed further convincing of a buyers' qualifications, another example. He dealt with, and kept me informed about, snags/delays at the eleventh hour with the buyers' underwriter, yet another example. The experience revealed to me how much work happens behind the scenes in a real estate deal. He checked-in several times to ask how I was dealing with everything which I very much appreciated. He responded to all of my queries quickly and thoroughly. I'm not sure he sleeps. This was my first house sale. Luckily I made the right decision in hiring Austin Rankin and, rest assured you will too!
