It all started with a gift of box of chocolates from Kim to convince me to sell my unit. She never did a market analysis, and suggested a very low price! She knew I was interested in a 1031 exchange and that I wouldn’t want to sell until I find a replacement property. She did nothing to help me out other than presenting an offer claiming it was a very good offer. She rushed me to sign it, and never suggested to counter it. She is only interested in her commissions (over $20000 for 2 open houses).

I believe home buying should be an exciting, albeit uneventful journey and realtors become that much more crucial when the journey is eventful. John and his partner Peter Cote were a very helpful resources as we purchased our first home. They was very thoughtful and kept our interest in mind rather than pushing houses on us. We felt comfortable with them to have honest conversations as our needs/wants were refined through the process. John was our main point of contact and was always easy to reach and constantly checking in; we always felt like a priority. Even after we purchased the home, both John and Peter were in touch to make sure we were settling in. I recommend John Barmon for a real estate agent because both my wife and I liked him. We had been searching for about five years for a house, and we had both used other agents to search and buy real estate. But neither of us had liked other agents much, but both agreed on this one. He's personable and low pressure. He's honest and seems to look out for our interests, rather then just talk hype about anything we looked at. He worked within our budget. Because he's experienced in real estate sales and knows the Cambridge MA market, before I met him in person, I imagined he was older then he actually is. Even after the sale and closing, he was still looking for ways to help us, for example found us a post-sale rebate. He makes you feel approachable, and was always happy to talk to others for us to find out information if we asked. I'm happy with his work, and I say this from the experience of buying other properties before using him for our last purchase. I would use him again after our last experience.
