As first-time homebuyers, my husband and I were looking for a realtor who could help us navigate this foreign process. Family members of ours had purchased a home with Chris years prior and recommended that we reach out to him for help. We are so thankful that we did. While searching for about 18 months in a sellers' market, Chris was patient and devoted to helping us find not just a house that met some of our criteria, but the best place for us to invest our savings and create a home. He sent us specific listings (not automatic search results) and kept an eye out for homes coming on the market that could better meets our needs than what was currently available. He was always free for home tours and came prepared with knowledge of both the house and the neighborhood (e.g., schools, nearby amenities, builder/floorplans/models). We never felt rushed while touring as Chris was also checking on important features of the house (e.g., age of HVAC, water heater, appliances, roof). When we were ready to pursue a purchase, Chris made recommendations for how to strengthen our offer, both initially and during negotiations regarding appraisal, but made sure we were comfortable with what was put forward. He also referred us to a great lender (John Petersen at TD Bank), who helped us lock in a relatively low interest rate. Once our offer was accepted, Chris ensured that all of the next steps happened in a timely manner. At the final walkthrough, Chris not only helped us check the house's condition, but also explained how the final cash-to-close had been determined so we didn't have any surprises when signing. Even after closing, Chris has still been available to answer questions. We are so grateful for his help and plan to work with him again in the future!

Tracy helped us sell our condo in Ellicott City this fall. She came to our initial meeting with printouts of the research she had done about similar properties that had recently sold in the area. We were thinking about renovating before selling, and she came prepared with suggestions for that, too, such as what to focus on if we were to renovate and companies that could handle the project. He was very familiar with our larger neighborhood and our style of house. He kept us updated as we went through the process and had a great marketing plan to increase interest in the house. When we did go live with the listing, James gave us great suggestions for how we should entertain offers and whether or not we should set a deadline. When offers started to come in, he broke them down to make them easy for us to understand them. He went through and let us know which offers were stronger than others and WHY they were stronger or weaker. James was incredibly patient and took the time to explain things whenever we had questions. He was able to negotiate a very favorable rent back for us, since the house sold much quicker (and for over asking price) than we anticipated! He was very calm and reassuring through the whole process. He was amazing helping us navigate the emotions of selling our family home, where we raised our children. There were some hiccups from the buyers during the process, not at all due to anything that James missed, but he gave us great guidance on what we legally could do, as well as giving us some guidance on what he believed was the morally right thing to do. After the sale of the home, James continued to check on us and encourage us. We could not have asked for a better agent and STRONGLY recommend James.
